Biodistricts in India

Biodistricts In India

Renova is currently bringing energy development and biodistrict projects to India, through the creation of a dedicated company: IESD (Indo European Sustainable Development).

IESD has formed a joint venture with Smile Parks Industries Pvt. Ltd., which has an agreement with the State of Uttar Pradesh for the development of 25 agro-energy clusters. Each district is to involve the construction of plants for the processing and preservation of agricultural products (rice, tomatoes, etc.) harvested by farmers, so as to allow them to increase their production. The cold chain is particularly important, because at present 30% of agricultural products are lost due to the inability to preserve them properly. This sustainable development project is of considerable social value, since it will promote employment and new entrepreneurial initiatives in the agricultural arena.
