The Bas-Congo Agro-energy District

The Bas-Congo Agro-energy District

With the support of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Renovo is developing an agro-energy district for the production, processing and conservation of agricultural products (fruit and vegetables) intended for the local market, and in particular for the capital city Kinshasa, the country’s chief market.
In keeping with our vision, in which the local community is a strategic factor, agricultural waste will be used to produce biogas through anaerobic digestion, with the aim of generating the electrical power required by processing and conservation plants, and also of distributing power to the population and finally allowing them access to energy.
The project is in partnership with the association Shalom Movimento Onlus, which provides support through its local office in the region of Bas-Congo, supporting us in involving and raising awareness among local communities.
